As churches begin to slowly reopen their buildings we wanted to take a moment and share with you what we are doing here at Addisville. We will be using a phased approach. Our first in person worship service since March is scheduled for Sunday, June 21. That Sunday we will have one service at 10 AM. Our goal is to keep you safe so there are a number of protocols we will be following that day:
Foot traffic will be flowing in one direction. Entrance into the buildings will be limited to the parking lot Christian Life Building entrance and the Sanctuary entrance through the Portico. Exits will be limited to the side parking lot door near Fellowship Hall and the double Fellowship doors adjacent to the kitchen doors. These doors will be clearly marked.
Our Sanctuary will be limited to approximately 1/3 its normal capacity. An overflow area will be set up in Fellowship Hall. We will not be able to seat congregants when the number exceeds what we are able to safely accommodate.
We expect everyone to maintain social distancing and to wear masks.
There will be no bulletins, hymnals or Bibles in the pews. Everything will be projected or available online. There will be no passing of offering plates-offering boxes have been mounted to the walls for your convenience and safety. There will be no greeting time and no coffee hour.
Many members have shared their reluctance to return to in person worship. We understand. Our online services will continue and, through new technology, improve. Others have expressed their desire to return, and we look forward to welcoming you on June 21.
We plan in the coming months to return to two services. We also anticipate that there will be changes to our protocols as the virus dissipates. We look forward to reinstating many of the elements to our Sunday worship and Fellowship time that so bless us. Thank you!
