In Person Sunday Worship and Keeping You Safe
As we take the first step towards reopening our church building below is important information regarding our return to in person worship beginning on Sunday, June 21.
We will have one service beginning at 10 AM. It will have the same format as our streaming service currently has done. We will continue to stream our services each week. Once the attendance justifies doing so, we will return to two services. At this time there is no Children's Ministry Program or nursery care during the service. Nursery care will resume mid-July.
To ensure that foot traffic is flowing in one direction-congregants will enter building from the double back doors/parking lot entrance in the Christian Life Building or through the front doors of the Sanctuary Portico entrance. These door will be kept open and then closed but not locked once service has started. All other doors will be locked. You will notice that the floor of the Cloister will have lines to encourage social distancing.
Congregants will exit (In the Sanctuary via the double doors near the piano) through the double doors leading outside located in Fellowship Hall or the side doors located near the storage room between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall that leads outside to the side parking area. Doors will be clearly marked as either an entrance or an exit.
You will be greeted warmly by our ushers and greeters while practicing social distancing. They will seat you in the designated areas. The pastors will give instructions regarding exiting at the conclusion of the service.
There will be no bulletins. Everything will be projected or is online.
The Return Team
This team will have set up the sanctuary. Our Sanctuary will be set up for approximately 1/3 capacity. You will notice an “X” marks where people may sit on the pew. Alternating pews will be roped off. Persons who reside in the same house do not need to social distance and in that case more than two may sit in the same pew section. An overflow area will be set up in Fellowship Hall.
We will not be passing the offering plates. For those who desire to bring their offering envelopes to church, wooden boxes have been mounted in the front and back of the sanctuary. Offering plates will be place at both ends of the Fellowship Hall.
Once we return to two services pews will be cleaned with disinfectant wipes in between services.
Sealed communion cups with wafers will be available to worshippers as they enter church on communion Sundays.
Masks should be worn and will also be made available. Extra masks in plastic bags are available. Hands free sanitizer dispensers will be available.
- When the Sanctuary is at capacity additional worshippers will be escorted via the courtyard to Fellowship Hall.
- The temperature of church staff, worship leaders and ushers will be taken prior to service.
